Today's update includes votes on two cabinet positions: Howard Lutnick for Commerce Secretary and Kelly Loeffler for the Small Business Administration. Lutnick is a businessman who advocates for the abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service and was co-chair of Trump's second transition team to the White House. Loeffler was a senator for a short bit representing Georgia, and co-chaired Trump's second inauguration. While senator for only one year, Loeffler was accused of unethical behavior for sitting on the Agriculture Committee that oversaw investments she and her husband maintained.
No votes were cast for either cabinet position from democrats. Cory Booker (NJ) did not vote on Lutnick's confirmation.

This last week also saw votes for positions outside of the presidential cabinet. Attorney and retribution promiser Kash Patel was confirmed as the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations; an agency he claims is corrupt and out to get Trump. Patel received zero votes from democrats. Daniel Driscoll was confirmed as the Secretary of the Army with help from sixteen democrats voting yes and three not bothering to vote at all. The yes votes were mostly from the same border/military hawks that have voted yes in past nominations. Driscoll is best known for being Vice-President J.D. Vance's buddy from Yale Law School. He served in Iraq and completed a total of three years of military service.
